Detailed Itinerary
DAY 1 HANOI
On arrival in Hanoi you will be transferred to your hotel for a short rest and to freshen up after your flight.
We then set out with our tour guide on a cyclo tour to discover the wonderful shopping opportunities and bargains in and around the Old French Quarter. Here we get a feel for the wonderful shopping delights on offer - street after street of pearls, lacquer wares, gold, silk, shoes and handbags, linen and everything you could possibly imagine. See the locals going about their daily lives as they prepare their evening meals on the crowded pavements. Take in the delicious smells of aromatic herbs and spices emanating from huge bubbling boilers and clay pots, as laughter and lively chatter resonate above the lively noises of this extraordinary city.
Afterwards, set off at your own leisure – or haste!! to browse amongst the bounties of endless shopping treasures.
This evening we relax over a sumptuous traditional Vietnamese meal, typical of the north of Vietnam, at a popular restaurant frequented by the locals of Hanoi. Our tour guide is there to answer any of your questions and fill you in on local Vietnamese customs and traditions. Any shopping haunts you may have heard about or particular items you wish to buy... just ask and we'll do our very best to find it for you. After our evening meal free to venture out and enjoy the vibrant nightlife of Hanoi or meander back to your hotel in preparation for the excitement of Day 2 of our Shopping Temptation and Pamper Tour.
DAY 2 HANOI
This morning if you're up bright and early, join our tour guide for a brisk walk around the famous Hoan Kiem Lake, situated very close to your hotel. Join the locals in their daily exercise routine as you listen to the patriotic music blaring out as the dawn breaks to daylight.
Ladies, let's be ready to fill up those shopping bags today! Today is your day to confidently discover new shopping streets or revisit those very favourite shopping haunts of yesterday.
We explore the wide boulevards between the Opera House and Hoan Kiem Lake where aspiring young artists display their works in up market galleries. Embassies and government buildings align wide tree lined boulevards and many more "western style" designer shops are becoming more prevalent and popular with the upcoming young and more affluent Vietnamese locals. Our tour guide takes us to Vincom Plaza and Trang Tien Plaza, the perfect places to find designer handbags, make up, fashion designer labels, unique pieces of art and fabulous book shops. You'll just love the great quality items you can buy at fantastic prices. The savings would make anyone excited!!
This afternoon is your special time to renew your vitality and spirit with an unforgettable pamper experience. Relax and rejuvenate in a sensory paradise as you enjoy a full body therapeutic massage and either a pedicure or manicure. Simply enjoy this sublime experience as you are put in the personal care of expertly trained beauty therapists.
We finish our day with a performance by the world renowned Water Puppet Theatre and dinner at a restaurant very popular with the locals.
This evening we are once again treated to a delectable meal of the north and if you are eager for more shopping you can't go past the there is the lively night street markets.
DAY 3 HANOI / HOI AN
This morning we are taken on a Hanoi City Tour where you'll be immersed in the history, culture and traditions of many generations of the Vietnamese. This tour gives you a good perspective of Vietnam and the ancient traditions and customs of the Vietnamese people. Our tour guide is with us to answer any questions, but you're certainly are free to wander on your own if you wish.
View the Ancient Citadel to gain an understanding of how and when Hanoi was once a walled city. The Temple of Literature is really intriguing – gain a deep understanding of the academic, poetic and artistic emphasis in the ancient history of Vietnam. A visit to the Museum of Ethnology shows the everyday life of the Vietnamese people and explains the arts, crafts and spiritual practices embedded in the lives of the Traditional ethnic minority groups, through life like displays.
This afternoon we take a flight to Danang where we are transferred by private vehicle and are taken on a short scenic drive along beautiful coast line bordering the iridescent green Vietnam Sea. Diligent villagers tend to rice paddies and a myriad of crops leaving you with an extraordinary feeling of admiration of the way the Vietnamese people go about their everyday lives.
Before you know it we are approaching the fascinating ancient town of Hoi An. If you don't already know it or your tour guide hasn't yet told you, Hoi An is possibly the BEST SHOPPING TOWN in Vietnam.
This evening our dinner will give you the opportunity to taste the culinary specialties typical of the cuisine of the people in Hoi An.
DAY 4 HOI AN
We start the day early with a tour of the early morning fresh local markets. Afterwards its free time to shop 'til you drop'!
Shopping delights fill this old merchant sea village and this is the place to have garments tailor made especially for you. We do have certain tailors that we recommend, but we'd also love to hear about your discoveries as you explore this fantastic shopping village.
Walk along the narrow cobble stoned streets where shoes, gold, pearls, silk, art and crafts are for sale at fabulous prices. You can buy tailor made clothes, fine pearls, lacquer ware, lanterns. Shopping delights fill this old merchant's sea village and this is the place to have garments tailor made especially for you. We do have certain tailors that we recommend, but we'd also love to hear about who and what you discover as you explore this great historical town.
This afternoon is once again pamper and relax time as you are treated to a special deluxe facial beauty treatment.
This evening what better way to enjoy your selves than to sip exotic cocktails poolside, while comparing the fabulous shopping treasures and bargains you have found while shopping today.
DAY 5 HOI AN
We start the day early with a visit to the fresh food markets experiencing the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We spend time interacting with the local sellers as we purchase some of the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson.
We then take a leisurely boat cruise 25 minutes along Hoi An River to the Cooking School – Red Bridge. Our cooking class includes demonstrations from the school's chef as well as the chance for us to help prepare some authentic Vietnamese dishes. Enjoy a glass of wine as you eat the sumptuous local food creations that we have prepared at the cooking school.
On our return, we take a leisurely walking tour of Hoi An where the secrets of the fascinating history behind this old merchant shipping town will unfold.
Discover ancient architecture boasting remarkable Chinese, Japanese and Portuguese influences. Along the way see the Japanese Bridge, Chinese Temple and 200 Year old Tam Ky Ancestral House. A visit to the silk house shows us the silk making process and we see clever artisans going about their crafts of mat weaving, lantern making, silk painting and embroidery.
Tonight is celebration night where we can all revel in our recent luxurious pampering, the great fun we've had together and of course boast about the all the wonderful shopping bargains and treasures we've discovered while on our fantastic Vietnam and shopping and pamper tour.
DAY 6 HOI AN
This morning is your last chance to take advantage of any last minute shopping in Hoi An After checking out of your hotel you will be transferred to the airport by private vehicle, for your onward journey or flight home.
